Nanotechnology in Iron Deficiency Anemia: A review

Anemia has become the most common and wide spread disease among the diverse age groups in the population in which iron-deficiency has emerged not only as the main cause of anemia but also lethal if not treated with caution. To address the growing concern of this disease World Health Organization has launched global nutrition target 2025 which aims to reduce the anemia in the population by 50%. This has not been possible with conventional therapeutics therefore this review article aims to summarize all the different conventional methods and provide a new aspect of implementing nanotechnology to treat anemia thus potentially aid in reducing the anemic population and meeting the global nutrition target 2025.
