Introduction to Hardware-dependent Software design

Due to the rapidly increasing software content in embedded systems, Hardware-dependent Software (HdS) has become a critical topic in system design. In this paper, we provide a brief overview on the topic of HdS, discuss the issues and complexities involved in the design of HdS, and motivate the need for special attention to HdS in research and development.
