10-Gbps upstream transmission for WDM-PON using RSOA and delay interferometer

We demonstrate the transmission of 10-Gbps NRZ signals over 20-km standard single-mode fiber using an RSOA in a loopback configured WDM-PON system. Significant performance improvement is achieved using a delay interferometer, which acts as an optical equalizer of the band-limited RSOA.
