Developing Appropriate Technology for Small Farm Populations

Crop simulation models have been tested extensively on research and commercial farms throughout the United States and are considered an aid to farmers, crop consultants, and researchers in the management of resources on large-scale farms. Research is needed to develop improved crop simulation models and user-interfaces and understand how crop models may be used on small farms. The purpose of this project was to field test the model GLYCIM and the interface GUICS (Graphical User Interface for Crop Models) on small-scale soybean farms.
