UNDERWATER SOUND PROPAGATION IN THE STRAITS OF FLORIDA: THE MIMI EXPERIMENT OF 3 AND 4 FEBRUARY 1965.

Abstract : An experiment was conducted on 3 and 4 February 1965 as a part of the study of underwater sound propagation in the Straits of Florida, called Project MIMI. A special pseudo-random modulation of a 420 Hz carrier was used to probe one-way multipath propagation. The non-modulated carrier was used for continuous-wave analysis. The report describes the experiments and the data processing, and presents the results of these analyses in photographical form. (Author)
