One-step solid-state reaction synthesis and gas sensing property of tin oxide nanoparticles

Abstract A new one-step solid-state reaction synthesis of tin oxide (SnO 2 ) nanoparticles has been developed. The process is a convenient, inexpensive and efficient preparation for SnO 2 nanomaterial with adjustable grain sizes in the range of 3–15 nm in high yield. They can be dispersed into EtOH or distilled water. The prepared SnO 2 nanoparticles have high sensitivities towards reducing gases.
