Copyright Protection for Software Written By Software

Abstract A previous article in this journal by the Belgian lawyer Joren De Wachter (CRi 2010, 12-20) discussed ‘software written by software’, and questioned whether a copyright analysis is appropriate and workable in such cases. In this article, deWachter’s views are critiqued by English lawyers who believe that copyright remains appropriate and sufficiently flexible for such situations.
