Research on Dynamic Area Configuration of MBSFN in TD-LTE

In order to support multimedia services, TD-LTE introduces enhanced multimedia broadcast/multicast (E-MBMS), the access network using MBSFN (MBMS over a Single Frequency Network) transmission mode, a group tightly time-synchronized base stations transmit the same signal at the same time and over the same frequency channel to UEs, this group of cells to form a single frequency network. Because the traditional static configuration of multicast/broadcast single frequency network cannot be dynamic adjustment with the user distribution, in this paper, an approach based on contribution degree is proposed for dynamic configuration of MBSFN area. Simulation results show that the proposed dynamic configuration scheme improves the utilization rate of spectrum resources effectively and enhances the user experience.
