Reducing bullwhip effect using delayed generalized predictive control (DGPC)

In supply chains, the phenomenon of bullwhip effect (the variance amplification of order quantities observed in supply chain) has received a considerable attention by both theoretical researchers and practitioners as it leads to tremendous losses and poor customer services. This paper introduces a new control engineering technique called delayed generalized predictive control (DGPC) method proposed by one of authors in control of the gas turbine engine. The proposed method can reduce bullwhip effect. This would help the decision makers in supply chains to reduce the negative consequences of the bullwhip effect.
