User Friendly Environment for the R&D of Controllers in Heavy Machinery

Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) simulation is an effective way to speed-up and improve R&D of automation and control of heavy machines. In this paper a heavy large hydraulic press is presented. Its distributed control system is specified. The use of HIL in R&D is discussed. Requirements of HIL in this example case are presented and discussed. Examples of the use of HIL in a hydraulic press R&D is shown.
