Using Supply Chain Interoperability as a Measure of Supply Chain Performance

Inadequate supply chain performance measurement systems are still one of the major barriers to successful supply chain collaboration. System architecture concepts provide a new perspective to study supply chain performance measurement. Various supply chain characteristics such as complexity, differences of business cultures and firm’s orientation, emergence vs. control of processes and the great number of interfaces between firms can, and we propose should, be viewed through the wider measure of supply chain interoperability.
