Influence of geometric parameters of a slewing bearing raceway on the maximal contact force

It is most important to get the maximal contact force between ball and raceway in a slewing bearing design and service life prediction. The load distribution over raceways must be known first, and it is influenced by many parameters. The traditional load distribution theory is too simplified for the neglect of many parameters of raceway. This paper analyzes relations between raceway geometric parameters. It discusses the load distribution theory taking the actual contact angle into consideration, and the influence of geometric parameters on the maximal contact force is also analyzed. The results show that geometric parameters have great influence on the maximal contact force.
