Two new species of Sarcogyne (lichenised Ascomycota: Acarosporaceae) from central and southern Australia

Two new lichens, Sarcogyne iridana P.M.McCarthy & Kantvilas and S. meridionalis P.M.McCarthy & Kantvilas (Acarosporaceae), are described and illustrated from sandstone in central Australia and from limestone, mainly in coastal habitats, in southern Australia, respectively. The widespread S. regularis Korb. is reported from Tasmania for the first time. Sarcogyne calcifraga (Mull.Arg.) H.Magn., based on collections from Egypt, is lectotypified, but it is excluded from the Australian lichen flora.
