Zigzag defect free alignment and good bistability of surface stabilized Sc * cells

Abstract Both zigzag defect free alignment and good bistability of Scc * cells with a rubbed polymer film are obtained by a study on the influence of ferroelectric liquid crystal's phase transition sequences and enthalpy changes on the alignment and the bistability properties in the naphthalene containing liquid crystals system.
