Publisher Summary The chapter focuses on the study of restraining stiffness of a stiffening ring joint and a continuous web plate joint of a concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) frame. The chapter studies solid models of CFST joints using ANSYS. The chapter presents 11 CFST joints that accorded with the finite element model to process joint experiments and then verifies the applicability of finite element models with the experiment results. Further, basing on the models, it changes some factors such as the dimensions of beam and column, the proportion of rigidity per unit length of beam to column, and the pull-down ratio, to confirm their influence on the joint stiffness and creates M—θ model of the joints. An alternative means to gain the information of the restraining stiffness of a joint is used in the chapter and it can be applied in research of other type joints as well.
