Rich phenomena ofpulse-coupled spikingneurons withtriangular waveforminput

Thispaperstudies aspiking neuroncircuit witha periodic triangular basesignal. Thecircuit canoutput richpulse- trains andthedynamics canbeanalyzed exploiting apiecewise linear one-dimensional pulse position map.Using twoneurons we construct a pulse-coupled systemwhosedynamics canbe integrated intothecomposite mapofthepulse position maps oftwoneurons. Thecomposite mapispiecewise linear andwe cananalyze richphenomena precisely. Forexample, periodic behavior ofeachneuronischanged intochaotic behavior and chaotic behavior ofeachneuronischanged into periodic behavior. Theseresults provide basicinformation toconstruct flexible pulse-coupled neural networks.
