건축자재 포장재에 의한 폐기물 발생현황 조사연구

With the increase in national income and the subsequent rise in life quality over recent years, enthusiasm for environmental friendliness is growing in Korea and elsewhere. Furthermore, the public's interest is calling on the construction industry to use environmentally-friendly methods and reduce waste. According to the 2007 waste generation and treatment status report, construction waste made up 51.02 percent of the total waste ― the largest on the national level. Construction waste in Korea has shown an increase at unnecessarily high levels as more packaging materials are used in apartment housing. The increase reflects the building boom of apartment buildings and the growing demands for higher quality, as well as the subsequent increases in quality and quantity of wide varieties of finishing materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the status of construction waste generation related to packaging materials that are used during finish work for apartment buildings. The results will offer basic data for future studies on systematic management strategies for construction waste and on reduction of waste generation resulting from the use of packaging materials.
