An efficient implementation of thin client technology for e-learning in the Jazan University

For the past few decades, the area of higher education has been experiencing a time of complete transformation through the use of new and emerging technologies. The transformation of learning, teaching and the classroom depends completely upon the use of various technologies inside the classroom. E-Learning has become a new philosophy and standard in the area of education with the goal being to serve as a platform for development to be used by the knowledge-based present-day society. An emerging, novel technology in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) world is known as Thin Client. The centralized computing environment of the Thin Client provides a reliable and secure solution for desktop computers at low cost. The users are relieved from having to make regular updates to their hardware and software. This paper discusses the achieved benefits after the implementation of Thin Client Technology in Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
