Chaos and canards in the van der Pol equation with periodic forcing

Chaotic attractors in the van der Pol equation with periodic forcing are studied. Computer results are given, and the range of the parameter corresponding to the chaotic attractor is discussed. Moreover, its piecewise linear version is studied. The experimental results display the large difference between the dynamics of the van der Pol equation with periodic forcing and its piecewise linear version.
