A typical transmission tower in subsidence area was analyzed by numerical method,and the influence regularities of ground deformation on internal force and structure deformation of the tower were studied.As a result,the relationship among failure forms,bearing strength and offset variable was obtained.The result indicates that,when a single support is applied vertical downward displacement(nonuniform ground settlement),the tower losts stability when the displacement is very small,thus this kind of displacement load is the most dangerous one.If the supports are applied other displacement loads,all the bars do not yield unless the displacements of supports beyond 5% of the distance between two supports.The result also indicates that,supports applied compression displacements are more dangerous than supports applied tension displacements.
