Environment Support for Cooperative Working

Distribution and communication technology have a significant role to play in the development of computer systems to support group work. This paper examines the issues surrounding the support of CSCW systems and how this can be achieved by the development of a CSCW environment. This paper introduces an approach to the development of a CSCW environment and its implication for distributed systems. The components of a CSCW environment are introduced and a possible architecture for the realisation of the environment model is presented.
