WPT topology scheme with dual parallel-circuit class E inverters and integrated inductor

A novel topology scheme for wireless power transfer (WPT) applications whose transmitter consists of dual opposite phase class E inverters was proposed. Series-series compensation topology was applied for magnetic coupling structure. Constant output voltage at secondary side can be easily realized by inserting a π transconductance at the output of inverter to ensure the primary currents to be constant. Furthermore, magnetic integration is applied to both parallel inductors of the inverters to suppress the even-order harmonic while remaining the useful input fundamental current going through unaffected, resulting less winding losses of the inductors. The feasibility and performance of the proposed scheme was verified by both simulation and prototype tests. The peak inverter efficiency reached up to 94%.
