Type I Supernovae

Several projects involving Type I supernovae and their impact on nucleosynthesis are described. 1) A major effort is underway to compute the spectrum at epochs near maximum light. 2) Dynamical calculations have been done exploring the range of possible outcomes of the evolution of binary white dwarfs. 3) Consideration is given to the need to eject iron from the Galaxy to avoid overproduction by Type I events. 4) The nature of the class of peculiar Type I supernovae is explored.
