Nonlinear Analysis of Prestressed Concrete Structures

This paper presents a finite element model for the nonlinear analysis of prestressed concrete structures. The model can be used to analyze pretensioned or posttensioned, bonded or unbonded structures under monotonic and cyclic loads. It is made up of three components: (a) a fiber beam-column element that describes the behavior of concrete and bonded mild reinforcing steel, (b) a tendon element, and, (c) a bond, friction and anchorage element that describes the transfer of forces between the tendon and the fiber beam-column element.
