A Vehicle Tracking System Based on Wireless Sensor Network

A vehicle tracking system based on wireless sensor network(WSN) with a four-layered architecture is presented. It consists of the sensor network, the base station, the server and the client. The key issues in system design are studied including vehicle detection, data communication, information processing, and remote inquiry. An experimental system is developed with Mica2 nodes and ARM9 development board, and its performance is analyzed and tested. The upper bound of the system performance is further investigated with theoretic analysis.
