An adaptive multichannel filter for colour image processing

A new multichannel filter suitable for noise reduction and edge preservation is introduced here. The new filter uses adaptively determined data-dependent coefficients. The special case of colour image processing is studied as an important example of multichannel signal processing. Simulation results indicate that the new filter is computationally attractive and has excellent performance.
