The analysis of M/M/1 queue model with N policy for damaged nodes in MANET

the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a temporarily organized computer multi-hop communication network which is composed of mobile hosts equipped with wireless transmitters and receivers. Considering human repair, this paper studied a M/M/1 queue model for damaged nodes in MANET where the service man applies N-policy. By assuming damaged nodes' arrival be subject to Poisson process, repair time and vacation time be exponentially distributed, we firstly establish the relation between arrival rate and the steady-state probability of service, and given N, we obtain the probability of vacation. Secondly an analysis on system overhead with different N and vacation rate is performed. Finally we use OPNET to analyzing the network performance under different N and provide the concrete method to simulate node damage process in MANET. It is helpful to get the best strategy for arranging resources in MANET repair system to improve network stability.
