As the proportion of apartment housing in the domestic housing construction has grown recently, construction companies have focused on improving the quality of apartment housing in order to fit the rising needs of clients. However, in spite of these efforts of quality improvements, some defects have occurred repeatedly. The number of arguments following these failures is also increasing. According to growth of market construction the scale of a defect bond is growing larger and larger every year. This result indicates that defects have not been managed efficiently and systematically. This research presents the need for management of defect prevention by means of a defect bond. From the viewpoint of construction companies, the process of preventive actions is suggested in order to manage the defects both in design and construction stages of apartment housing project. Defect bond, namely cost, can be used as a measurement to find out an occurrence of a defect and estimate the effect of it.
