The Implementation and Optimization of the RCHF Reliable MAC Mechanism for Underwater Acoustic Networks

UANs (Underwater Acoustic Networks) have developed rapidly in recent years, and many protocols tailored for UANs have been proposed. So far most researches are based on theoretical analysis and simulations. However, dynamic underwater environment and complicated communication systems are unable to be well reflected by simulation. To evaluate effectively the performance of protocols, we build a real underwater acoustic communication test bed in Qinghai Lake based on OFDM modem and Micro ANP protocol architecture. Based on the real UANs test bed of Qinghai Lake, we implement the RCHF MAC protocol to achieve the reliability of transmission. We carry out a lot of field tests, and the experiment results indicate that our real UANs test bed can realize reliable and stable transmission.
