This paper focuses on formulation and adoption of guidelines and standards that would be appropriate to the Sultanate of Oman. The impact of quality parameters on industrial sectors is numerous. Usage of hygienically safe and wholesome water would add inputs to industries. Likewise proper disposal of industrial wastes according to predetermined criterion would safeguard the environment. This demands formulation, updating and implementation of guidelines that would properly serve the water sector in the Omani various and varying districts and regions.
