An efficient FPGA design for lifting wavelet

The wavelet transform is replacing the discrete cosine transform in the field of image compression. The lifting scheme is an alternative implementation of DWT. It requires fewer operations and provides in-place computation of the wavelet coefficients. The paper presents a method which implements a 2D lifting wavelet by FPGA. The result of simulation displays that the lifting scheme has less memory requirement and the result is the same as Matlab's.
