Critical Path Methods at the Planning Stage

We have seen that CPM does for the timing of project activities what budgeting does for their cost: it ensures that an allowance is made for all the items involved, in their proper relationship with each other, with no gaps, and no double counting. This means that, as far as is humanly possible, a feasible set of schedules for the timing of project activities is created; that is, feasible in terms both of the ways in which activities depend on each other, and in terms of the total resources required by all the activities expected to be in progress at any one time.
