Injection mode locking of a multiatmosphere TE CO 2 laser

A multiatmosphere TE CO 2 laser operated at pressures up to 8 atm has been injection mode-locked. Peak single pulse energies of ∼1 J were obtained in a 1-ns pulse when the 70 cm3device was operated at ∼8 atm.
