MOA Resistive Current Measure System Based on GPS and Wireless Technology

The resistive current of the arrester is an important indicator of its status, the conventional arrester resistive current measurement method have potential safety hazard, this paper presents a wireless resistive current measurement method based on GPS, with simple field wiring, suitable for online monitoring and other features. The method took advantage of PPS pulses of GPS and wireless communication to accomplish the synchronous measurement of MOAs' voltage and leakage current. This method also use the algorithm based on Fourier series to calculate the phase difference between voltage and leakage current. The field tests show that the method meets the resistive current measurement accuracy requirement.
