The method comprises the following steps: the state of a flash lamp is determined, wherein the state of the flash lamp at least contains an auto state, an off state and an on state; if the state of the flash lamp is the auto state, parameter values in the current environment are detected; and if the parameter values in the current environment reach preset prompting conditions, whether to turn off the flash lamp is prompted. When it is determined that the flash lamp is in the auto state and it is detected that the parameter values in the current environment reach the preset prompting conditions, whether to turn off the flash lamp is prompted. Thus, on an occasion not suitable for turning on the flash lamp, it is prompted that the flash lamp is in the auto state. Intelligent control of the flash lamp is realized, and shooting experience of users is further raised.
