EFFECT OF LONGITUDINAL FORCES ON LONG WELDED TRACKS

One of the reasons why track buckles is the longitudinal forces in a long welded track caused by starting, stopping or traction of the train. The authors have studied several articles and papers on the subject and they have their own theory also. They have reached the conclusion that more thorough research is necessary on this problem in that they found that there was a major difference between theoretical and actual results.
