Can You Relate? The Importance of Need Satisfaction for the Quality and Progressive Union Formation Process of Intimate Relationships

Dieser Beitrag befasst sich mit der Bedeutung von Autonomie und Verbundenheit als zentrale Bedurfnisse in Paarbeziehungen und untersucht Einflusse der Bedurfniserfullung auf die Partnerschaftsqualitat und fortschreitende Institutionalisierung von Paarbeziehungen. Anhand einer Stichprobe von 1914 Paaren und einem langsschnittlichen, dyadischen Design werden Akteur- und Partnereffekte partnerschaftlicher Autonomie und Verbundenheit auf die Partnerschaftsqualitat und den partnerschaftlichen Institutionalisierungsprozess ermittelt. Eine Clusteranalyse erbrachte vier Typen der partnerschaftlichen Bedurfniserfullung, die sich durch hohe Werte in beiden Bereichen, hohe Werte in jeweils nur einem Bereich oder geringe Bedurfniserfullung in beiden Bereichen auszeichnen. Eine balancierte Erfullung von Autonomie und Verbundenheit sagt die vergleichsweise hochsten Werte an Partnerschaftszufriedenheit und  Zukunftsorientierung vorher. Daruber hinaus reduziert eine geringe Bedurfniserfullung in Partnerschaften das Fortschreiten des partnerschaftlichen Institutionalisierungsprozesses (Zusammenziehen, Heirat, Geburt eines Kindes). Fur Frauen sind starkere Akteur- und Partnereffekte der partnerschaftlichen Bedurfniserfullung nachzuweisen als fur Manner.
