Adaptive acquisition scheme for DS-UWB system

A novel chip acquisition scheme was proposed for DS-UWB system. A preamble with repetition property was employed to improve the signal to noise ratio in the energy window. Once chip acquisition achieved, the multipath components could be acquired by utilizing the samples in energy window as the local template waveform. The threshold setting was adaptive with the power of the received signal. Analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme reduce acquisition time significantly and acquire BER performance comparable with perfect synchronization.
