Stealth technology of photo-electric equipments based on the magneto-optical rotation effect

To lessen the threat of being detected by laser active detecting system,a stealth method is put forward for the "cat′s eye" optical windows of the photo-electric equipments without changing their optical structure and decreasing their optical performance.Firstly, based on the magneto-optical rotation effect, the stealth device attached in front of the optical window of photo-electric equipment is proposed.Secondly, the feasibility of the design is analyzed by numerical simulation and experiment method in three respects:performance of the magneto-optical crystal, extinction ratio of the stealth device and the influence of the stealth device on image quality.Simulation and experimental results indicate that extinction ratio is satisfactory and the stealth device in front of the optical window has no influence on image quality. The device can satisfy the performance requirement for military equipments in a battlefield environment with the realization of stealth,a small extinction ratio and the maintenance of image quality.
