Proof and Application of the Positive-Net-Damping Stability Criterion

This letter presents proof of the positive-net-damping stability criterion for analysis of subsynchronous torsional interaction. It is also shown how to apply the criterion rigorously, in a somewhat different way than suggested by Canay.
