AEROELASTIC MODELLING OF PNEUMATIC AND TENSIONED FABRIC STRUCTURES

The requirement for modelling the elastic properties of tensioned surfaces is examined and shown to be unnecessary in aeroelastic modelling of most tensioned structures. Simplifications arising from combining the scaling of internal pressurization and Froude number scaling for air-supported structures are illustrated and the importance of scaling the acoustic stiffness of volumes enclosed by such structures is emphasized.
