Artificial neural networks applied to measurements rotor angle in a synchronous generator

This work analyzes the advantages of Artificial Neural Networks applied in development of a technique for estimation rotor angle and speed, transient stability assessment and control in real-time in Synchronous Generator. Two multi layered feed-forward Artificial Neural Networks are used for this technique. One is used for the estimation of rotor angle and another for the estimation of rotor speed. The validation has been made by simulation in a power system because techniques for the direct measurement were not available.
