Application of Genetic Algorithm in Polarization Radar Receiving System

Besides amplitude, phase and Doppler frequency shift, polarization state is another key characteristic of radar received waves. Setting radar receiving system to optimal polarization state is significant to anti-interference and target enhancement. If the receiving polarization state is set to the orthogonal state of interference’s polarization, impact of interference can be significantly lessened. An optimal polarization setting method based on genetic algorithm is put forward in this paper. Due to its largely cut computation quantity, the presented method is much more agile and easy to handle, compared to lagrange multipliers method as well as enumeration method.
