Sectoral analysis on China’s manufacturing in Global Value Chain

This paper estimated the position of China’s manufacturing in the global value chains (GVCs) in 1995-2011 by sectors. Results show that there are significant variances across sectors in China’s manufacturing on the way of, and the extent to, their involvement in the global value chains. Particularly there is a mismatch status in the position and participation for advanced technology sector. Supply-side reforms led by government may change this situation.
