Optimizing the Performance

Data mining is one of the important application fields of genetic algorithms. Genetic algorithms have been widely used as an effective search technique, especially when the search space contains complex interacting parts. Rather than search from general-to-specific or from simple-to-complex hypothesis, genetic algorithms generate successor hypothesis by repeatedly mutating and recombining parts of the best currently known hypothesis.
