Influence of Coarse Aggregate Angularity on Hot-mix Asphalt Properties

Coarseness and shape of mineral aggregates have great influence on hot-mix asphalt properties.At present,there is little study on the influence of coarse aggregates angularity on hot-mix asphalt properties.In the paper,ASTM D3398 method is adopted to measure average angularity I of 7 different coarse aggregates.Then the influence of coarse aggregates with average angularity I on hot-mix asphalt properties is studied.The experiment result indicates that coarse aggregates with average angularity I has different effect on high-temperature stability,low-temperature anti-cracking and moisture susceptibility properties of hot-mix asphalt.
