The invention relates to a living body detection method and device. The living body detection method comprises following steps that: a coated tongue image set, a face image set, a first instruction set and a second instruction set are established; when detection is performed on a user to be detected; a face image to be detected of the user to be detected is acquired, and the face image to be detected is matched with matching face images in the face image set, so that identity authentication is performed on to the user to be tested; a tongue exposing instruction is transmitted to the user to be detected which passes the identity authentication, and a coated tongue image to be detected is acquired and is matched with matching coated tongue images in the coated tongue image set, if the coated tongue image to be detected and is matched with a certain matching coated tongue image in the coated tongue image set, a next step is executed; one or a plurality of first instructions are transmitted to the user, and whether the user completes actions indicated by the first instructions is detected, if the user completes the actions indicated by the first instructions, a next step is executed; and one or a plurality of second instructions in the second instruction set are transmitted to the user, and whether the user completes actions indicated by the second instructions is detected, if the user completes the actions indicated by the second instructions, it can be judged that the user to be detected is a living body.
