The writer, Kim Min-gi was well known as a musician. So far, most studies have focused on his musical talents. However, since he released noreagut 〈The light of a factory〉, he has kept trying to write musical-drama. As you know, 〈Subway Line 1〉 is one of his outstanding musical-dramas. Noreagut 〈The light of factory〉 is valuable because it is a turning point for Kim Min-gi as a play writer. This paper notices the peculiar character of Musical-drama in noreagut 〈The light of a factory〉. This work is composed with only sings eliminating dialogues in plays. As a result, this paper tries to find out not only a musical technique and peculiarity but also the aspect how those things make an entire play. The number of Noreagut 〈The light of a factory〉 gives an general impression. Some of the number borrows oral motives and give us general impression. It results to the writer's purpose which is eager to get close to the public. In addition to this, noreagut 〈The light of a factory〉 sets off Korean classical rhythm and beat. Korean classical rhythm and beat represents diverse characters, in the meantime, it leads to take a new turn in chapters of play and helps the audience exhilarated. Noreagut 〈The light of a factory〉 tends to unity the whole play using Parallel Key. So, there is free intercourse among sings. This work is expressive of dramatic situation inserting another number's motive into one number. Each number's motive manufactures characters. Also, it manifests conflicts of characters sharply. What's more, it presents characters and conflicts effectively with modulation and irregular-time in one number. And it depicts the theme dramatically using melody by disjunction in processing melody. This work was turned out with a cassette-tape before a performance. The tape is easy for anyone to make a performance because it recorded accompaniment on side B. It means that the writer aimed the public to take pleasure in his play positively. As a result, this work has been remained an original precedent that is completed by public. Lastly, this work was a turning point that made cassette-tape more popular.
