OSTEOMA CUTIS MILIAR MULTIPLE

ABSTRACT Multiple miliary osteoma cutis (MMOC) is characte0i.ed by multiple small; firm nodules formed by new osseous growth whicin appear in the skin. The authors describe a 60-year old patient with progressive appearance', of lesions during three years of evolution. Lesions were asymtomatic, localized on both cheeks, with antecedents of acne during adolescente. Para-clinical examinations, including calcium, phosphorus and parathyroid hormone did not show alterations. MMOC are not related to hypercalcemia or calcinosis and their origin is highly controversiai, as is the possible influence of previous inflammation or lesions as etiological factors. These hypotheses are analyzed, as well as classification, complementary examinations of osseous dynamics and treatment.
