MORPHOGENESIS IN THE THEORY AND METHODOLOGY OF DIGITAL TECTONICS

Recent developments in the field of morphogenesis, theories, techniques and methods of digital design have contributed a new model of integration between tectonics and digital morphogenesis based on the reinterpretation of organizational properties of form, material and structure. A new level of integration between tectonics and digital morphogenesis based on the re-interpretation of form, material and structure is proposed and explained. Traditional concepts of "morphogenesis " and form-finding in architectural-structural design are introduced in an attempt to link these concepts with digital design and emerging digital processes. The objective of the paper is to find out how tectonic models which are employed in natural morphogenesis can be supported by digital morphogenesis and be relevant to design. The paper presents, discusses and analyzes the evolution of concepts such as digital tectonics and digital morphogenesis and characterizes the emergence of a contemporary theoretical framework for its usage as reflected the usage of digital morphogenetic systems.
